INSPIRATION

I guess it really IS true you can find inspiration in just about anything!! I am not a super huge video game fan but I don't mind playing the occasional 'board' or 'world' games like Mario Brothers or Donkey Kong :) J (the boyfriend) is a pretty big video game player, though so we have been trying to find games we can play together that I would like. Well, we picked up a copy of Kirby's Epic Yarn for the Wii a few weeks ago and let me just say... I am so taken with it!! Not something I thought I would ever say about a video game!

The graphics are just sooo sweet looking....everything, including Kirby and his friends, are made out of yarn! It is a super cute knitted design and all the 'worlds' look like they are made of cloth and textiles....Perfect for crafty people! :) The different worlds just look so dreamy...complete with fluffy clouds, squishy mushrooms and even a whole world dedicated to cupcakes and candies!
It is a great game for kids (meant for kids actually, I think ...lol) where you don't ever really 'die'.
I just thought I would share because I find the graphics of the game to be so luscious and inspiring! Make me want to create my own world of yarn and fabric!!

Day Trip

A few weeks ago J (the boyfriend) and I drove about 3 hours to tour a cave called Penn's Cave. It is a beautiful underground lake that you ride through. They also offer 'Safari' tours which we also took. I will share more photos later of the trip but just wanted to share this one that I liked in particular. - Taken with the Instagram app on my Iphone.

Hipstamatic Pittsburgh

I recently joined the world of the 'smart phone' and don't know how I have gone so long without one! I got a white Iphone 4 as a present to myself for getting a new job :) I, of course, downloaded Hipstamatic and Instagram right away. Recently my boyfriends' brother's girlfriend was visiting from Chicago and we did the 'touristy' Pittsburgh stuff with them. Below are some Hipstamic photos I took.

Group 12! :)

Check out this post over on the Freckled Nest Blog. A few weeks ago Leigh-Ann was kind enough to offer a free ad to anyone who replied to the post for her 5 year blogging anniversary. I replied kinda late but she still put my ad up and here it is! :)

Leigh-Ann featured a group in a post every day and that is what the screen shot is. Thanks for featuring Holliewould Vintage, LA!

Collections

Every so often I am going to share one of my MANY collections. I think like many other vintage lovers/crafty people, I find many things interesting and like to collect a lot of them...lol. It is just so hard to pass up a perfectly beautiful old camera or kitchy figurine!! That is why it is good for me to have an Etsy shop, so I can purchase these things and be able to enjoy them a little bit but then be able to share them with someone else. The first collection I want to share is my vintage camera collection.

I have been collecting vintage cameras for probably close to 3 years now. I have amassed quite the collection. I got them all together recently because I realized it was time to let some go. But OF COURSE I had to photograph them all together first!

I just LOOOVEE all their different shapes, colors and sizes. I have been a lover of photography ever since middle school and just love having these old pieces displayed in my home as a reminder of a very amazing art form.

*The cameras that 'didn't make the cut' are starting to appear in my Etsy shop. Check them out!!
